Why digits look the way they do

Digg it? Ok, so have you ever wondered why a 1 looks like a 1, and a 2 looks like a 2 - well yesterday I wanted to find out. So today I spoke with the space gods.

My History Lesson Today: 1,2,3,4 are knows as "Arabic" numbers. The Romans used I, II, III, IV. The Arabs however stole the idea from the early Phoenician traders who used 1,2,3,4 to keep track of trading accounts because it was a good idea. They did this by creating the digits with angles in mind.

Check out the image.

Zero has 0 angles! I love gravity!
